Exploring LGBTQ+ Lives & History

History is often told by those who have power. Unfortunately, this means that even more often people who matter to some communities are either unconsciously or willfully forgotten. This lack of representation in our history books tends to mean that LGBTQ+ people might only see modern exemplars on what it means to be LGBTQ+ without realizing that we’ve always existed and contributed to every society we’re a part of.

Once we dig a little deeper we learn not only that there have always been LGBTQ+ people throughout human history, but that they gave the world so much with their work, with their lives, and with their love.

Collected here are people within the LGBTQ+ community from both history and in the world in which we currently find ourselves.
