Jeremy O. Harris

#JeremyOHarris: With the opening of his work #SlavePlay, he brought to #Broadway conversations about race, gender, and sexuality that have never before been explored on the stage. This earned him the #LorraineHansberryPlaywritingAward, and many have compared Harris to the #ARaisinInTheSun writer; Harris’ work explores themes often relegated to the sidelines because of white supremacy, sexism, and racism in society. He has been lauded the world over for his provocative and honest work (which received 12 Tony Award nominations, a record previously held by #AngelsInAmerica), as well as his sense of fashion. In 2019, another play of his, #Daddy, opened off-Broadway. He is the co-author of #Zola, a film about a road trip that results in sex-trafficking, and recently became a a writer for #HBO. In 2020, he donated a significant amount of his earnings to the #NewYorkTheaterWorkshop and libraries across the United States, as well as to the #BushwickStarrtheater. He also created two $50,000 commissions for new works by Black women playwrights, and has urged #PresidentBiden to revive the #FederalTheaterProject. The world yearns for whatever is in store for this talent and undoubtedly the conversations sparked by his works will change the lives of anyone who has bore witness to his creative vision. #PrideMonth#LGBTQIA#LGBTQIAPride#Pride🌈#LegendsOfPride#YouCannotEraseUs
