#CamonghneFelix (1992 – ): Felix is a political strategist and cultural worker, and in 2015 was appointed as #GovernorAndrewCuomo‘s speechwriter, making her the first black woman and youngest person ever to serve in the role. Later she worked on the communications team for #ElizabethWarren‘s presidential campaign. She holds a Masters from NYU in arts politics and an MFA from Bard College. She recently spoke out against former CEO of #DoSomething for hiring women of color for photo opportunities rather than value their contributions, and how she felt women of color were pitted against each other within the organization. She is the author of a collected work of poetry entitled #BuildYourselfABoat, which put her on the list for the 2019 National Book Award in Poetry. In it she explores themes in her own life, most notably “the trauma and pain of black womanhood.” In one poem she explores her upbringing living in poverty in the Bronx, saying “I try not to tell about the stories / still bleeding. After all, who wishes / to lead their own mother to wolves.” #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA #LGBTQIAPride #Pride #LegendsOfPride #YouCannotEraseUs
