#HoneyMahogany (December 30th, 1983 – ): First coming to national prominence with her appearance in Season 5 of #RuPaulsDragRace, she chose her name from two colors of Revlon makeup that were close to her skin tone. After her appearance on Drag Race, she continued working in drag and continued her work as an activist for many causes. Before Drag Race she had worked as a social worker after obtaining her degree in Psychology with a minor in Musical Theater from the University of Southern California. Her clients included many with HIV, as well as homeless LGBT youth. Together with #JanettaJohnson and #AriaSaid, she helped create the nation’s first legally recognized #transgender district, #ComptonsTransgenderCulturalDistrict. She also was the first trans person to serve as co-president of the #HarveyMilkLGBTDemocraticClub and as a member of the #SanFranciscoDemocraticCountyCentralCommittee. In 2020, she was elected to a seat on the Democratic County Central Committee she had previously been appointed. This made her the first Black transgender person to win an elected post in California, and the first drag queen to win an elected post in San Francisco. In May 2024, she became the director of the San Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives.
